Human pre-mRNA 3'-end processing machinery database
CF IIm - mammalian cleavage factor II
It is build from two proteins which are conserved from yeast
to human. The
exact function is unknown. CFIIm in human is required for the cleavage
step, while in Drosophila and yeast it is required both for pre-mRNA 3'
processing and translational termination. Pcf11 binds to C terminal
part of RPB1 protein (this interacion depends on phosphorylation of
CTD). Although, Clp1 can acts as an RNA 5'-kinase it is not clear if
this activity is necessary for pre-mRNA 3' processing.
